We are especially proud of the décor of The Barber Shop. The articles and furnishings seen here reflect the management’s interest and pride in the history of their chosen profession.

Chris began collecting barbershop memorabilia approximately 35 years ago. In that time, he has amassed a large collection of antiques and collectibles from the late 1800s that are on display. Once inside, even the most casual observer gets the feeling of standing in a time-warp of an actual historical barbershop.

When Marc first became a barber, he also got the occupational-history bug and began picking up barber related memorabilia. His collection concentrates on the 1900s post-war era of the 1940s, 50s, 60s, and features one of the most complete antique, men’s hair tonic bottle displays to be found.

One thing is for certain, the displays at the The Barber Shop legitimately cover two centuries of barbershop history. Between Marc and Chris’ personal collections, they have transformed The Barber Shop into a place that is, not only dazzling to see, but one that is also historically accurate, functional, and just plain enjoyable to visit!

At this shop, it isn’t uncommon to see an elderly gentleman’s eyes to light up upon recognizing something that he was personally familiar with in his youth. Young people are equally curious and always seem surprised at the “totally cool” things barbershops once used. On display are archaic tools and implements, whimsical barbershop scenes, and furnishings that often reflect how beautifully things were made “back in the day.” It is such a complete history display that more than a few children have actually done history report assignments for school on The Barber Shop.

As you can see, people of all ages enjoy our ambience that is not unlike the Cracker Barrel or T.G.I.Friday’s restaurants, which also utilize memorabilia and nostalgic items to decorate. And just like those places, whether, or not, you have any personal interests in “old stuff” a visit to The Barber Shop is always FUN!
